Everybody Loves Free Stuff

I’m no exception. Remember the free iPods thing going around last year? You know – take part in an offer, then refer five friends to do the same and at the end of it you get a brand new iPod. Everyone thought it was dodgy until reports came through about people actually getting their free schwag, so everyone and their Grandmother signed up. I did too, then some stuff came up, I forgot about it, and only just remembered to check on it today – about a year later. It was this post on so-called Getting Paid To programs which reminded me, actually.

Anyway, at some point recently, Freepay (the people who run this deal) introduced a 90-day timelimit on their offers. Somehow my 90 days don’t run out until the end of the month. This makes it almost impossible for me to get my iPod. Bugger.

There is a glimmer of hope though – they also do a free Xbox 360 deal and I’d like your help to get one, seeing as I’m unlikely to afford one until they’re nearly obsolete. I need ten (preferably more) people to signup through this link – http://xbox360s.freepay.com/?r=30072522. At the very least (i.e. if the Wife doesn’t let me keep it), I’d be able to sell it and put the funds towards either savings or Mr. Visa!

My own (semi)selfish desires apart, what do you make of these “Get Paid To…” schemes? I’ve always viewed them with distrust and skepticism. Especially the Pay To Read email/surveys stuff. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s had experience of any of these type of schemes
