Does Your Online Income Work While You’re on Holiday?

Hello again, folks.
It’s great to be back from holiday. I feel relaxed and refreshed after almost 2 weeks away in the (unusually) sunny Scottish Highlands.
Before I went away, I was a little wary about how well my AIS (Automated Income Streams) would perform without me there to check on them and respond to anything that came up. As it turned out, I needn’t have worried.
The whole point of an AIS is that it’s automatic. Once it’s setup, it should be as “hands-free” as possible. Maybe tweak your ads every so often, or other minor maintenance (such as adding a new article to a site). However spending hours every day checking stats and figures is not required.
This was my biggest fear - I thought that if I wasn’t checking visitor numbers, referrals and click-throughs at least once a day, I’d end up not earning anything.
Wrong wrong wrong!
I came back from holiday expecting to have earned nothing but I had actually made few bob. Nothing amazing, but it’s something… and I was lying on a sun-lounger at the time.
It doesn’t get much better than that, really. Now I just have to start making enough money so I can lay on a sun-lounger all year round!
I suspect many others, particularly newcomers to Online Entrepreneurship, will have similar hang-ups. After all, we’re pre-conditioned to think we have to work for our money. The important thing is to setup a site that will take care of itself once it’s launched. There are a number of ways this could be done. In the case of article sites, making use of a CMS like Wordpress, along with technologies like RSS will greatly improve your site’s ability to look after itself.

I’m writing a whitepaper/eBook on this (using Wordpress for article marketing), but I’ll breifly elaborate: with a little bit of theme magic, Wordpress can pull data from RSS feeds and display it on your site. This gives your site the appearance of being frequently updated even if it isn’t.
